Also known as hydrolats, hydrolates and floral waters, hydrosols are the water-based by product of the steam distillation of essential oils. Hydrosols contain minute amounts of certain essential oil components. Hydrosols also contain the water-soluble portions of the plant something which essential oils do not contain. This gives hydrosols a unique range of action. They are extraordinarily gentle substances and are often described as being similar to herbal teas. Their very subtle fragrances make them tolerable and well accepted by cats, and their highly diluted nature makes using hydrosols safe and simple.

How do I apply Hydrosols?

Hydrosols can be applied by misting the palms of your hands and gently massaging into your feline’s coat. They may be spritzed onto a soft bristle brush and brushed into your feline’s coat or spritzed onto bedding or directly into the environment.
